La Bodeguita del Medio, often shortened to La B del M, is a bar and restaurant in Havana established in 1942. It originally started as a small store, but gradually expanded in popularity and offerings. Originally called "Casa Martinez", by 1950 hardly anyone used its original title, instead calling the place "la bodeguita del medio" -- the small store in the middle (of Empedrado Street). The establishment is often credited as the creator of the Mojito cocktail.
