A hair barrette with an elongated, symmetrical decorative element carved/molded in a reddish coral-orange material, in a foliate motif of overlapping leaf or wheat-ear forms meeting at a central knotted "bow" and tapering to points at each end. The surface is dressed with scattered gold glitter. A thin metal clip/spring wire is fitted along the back as the fastening. The handmade character is evident in the irregular carving and finishing. Wear includes glitter and surface loss, residue, and handling marks.
