The wall is pierced with two rows of round ventilation holes (about five in the upper row and four in the lower row in the view shown) and is covered overall with a dense texture of fine molded nubs/bristles (the gripping "teeth" that hold gathered hair), with knurled/ribbed bands at each open end. Open at both ends (hollow). A manufactured commercial curler (not improvised). No maker's mark, brand, or size marking is visible.
