The track list is notable for its composers: the album draws on Juan Formell (several tracks), and includes early songs by Silvio Rodríguez ("Hay un grupo que dice") and Pablo Milanés ("Mis 22 años") alongside Marta Valdés, Francia Domech, Piloto y Vera, and M. Solís–Ch. Herrera. The genre tags — afro shake, shake, guajira, canción rock, fantasía rítmica, guaracha shake, shake blues — place it squarely in the late-1960s Cuban "shake"/pop moment, when EGREM was folding international beat-music idioms into Cuban song.
