A small, elongated, gently arched component in cream/ivory molded plastic, forming the rigid decorative bar of an elastic hair tie. The body is a smooth convex shell, concave/hollow on the underside. Ends carry a short cylindrical knobbed post, the anchor points to which an elastic band attached, drawing the gathered hair against the bar. Per donor information, the piece was used with a plain rubber band as that elastic element. The top surface shows a faint rectangular ghost/residue, suggesting a decorative element or label was once applied and is now lost. No maker's mark or lettering is visible.
