Gift to Miguel Valdés Mier
Issued by the Banco Nacional de Cuba in the early revolutionary period. The portrait honors Antonio Maceo, the independence-war general (“Titán de Bronce”), while the reverse commemorates the 1958 westward invasion of the revolutionary war — linking 19th-century independence and the Revolution in a single note. Specimens were produced for reference/archival and bank distribution, not circulation.
