Snap Fasteners (“Butterfly” brand) on Original Retail Cards

Object/Artifact

Sewing notions — press-stud snap fasteners (machos y hembras / socket-and-stud snaps) mounted on their original printed retail cards. Each card is teal/blue with a white flower-shaped field holding six snaps around a central roundel bearing a butterfly device and the brand name "Butterfly" in red script, with a punched hole for peg display. Three cards present in varying condition; the back of one card reads "…E IN CHINA" (i.e., "MADE IN CHINA") with the "Butterfly" name and shows the reverse (socket) sides of the snaps.

Mass-produced Chinese sewing notions. "Butterfly" was a widely exported Chinese consumer brand; such imported haberdashery reached Cuba through trade with socialist-bloc and allied countries.

Brand: "Butterfly" (butterfly device + red script wordmark).

Research confirms 蝴蝶牌/"Butterfly" as a famous Shanghai sewing brand (a century-old Shanghai lao zihao trademark, now held by Shanghai Butterfly Imp. & Exp. / SGSB Group, registered in 80+ countries) — but every source ties it to sewing machines, not haberdashery. It is plausible the snap cards used the same Shanghai brand.

Card front: "Butterfly" (red script); butterfly device Card back: "Butterfly"; "[MAD]E IN CHINA"
