stirrer
Object/Artifact
A sky blue plastic cocktail stirrer with a circular disc head embossed with a crenellated shield bearing the name “1830 Restaurant Bar,” the shaft reading “La Habana Cuba” along its length. Ball tip at the base.
The 1830 Restaurant apparently took its name from the year of establishment of the La Zaragozana restaurante. The neoclassical mansion it occupies on the Malecón at the mouth of the Almendares River belonged to Carlos Manuel de Céspedes (son) before. It operated as a state restaurant after the revolution.
