Blue striped linen fabric
This rectangular swatch of fabric with a blue breton stripe pattern on white ground is a plain woven linen. The pattern was printed rather than woven, as seen by the limited bleed on the piece's reverse side. There are several slubs noticeable throughout. The piece is cut selvedge-to-selvedge, a width of about 36in.
Brassiere strap component, elastic with plastic slide-and-hook adjuster
A length of cream/off-white woven cotton elastic strap fitted with a flat molded white plastic adjuster, salvaged from a discarded brassiere and kept for possible reuse. The plastic piece is a small rectangular plate with an open hook at one end and two oblong slots through its body; the elastic passes into the plate and is threaded back on itself so that the length can be set, while the hook is the attaching point — the standard adjustable slide-and-hook hardware of a bra strap. The webbing is about an inch wide, plain-woven, lightly soiled, with frayed cut ends where it was removed from the rest of the garment. There are no visible maker's marks, sizes, or text on either the plastic or the elastic.
Buttons (set), yellow plastic with gold-tone metal rim
Set of rounded-square ("squircle"), low-domed garment buttons in opaque yellow plastic, each encircled at the rim by a polished gold-colored metal band. The front is a smooth dome; the reverse carries a concentric-ring field with a central shank for sewing. Collector reports roughly a dozen examples in two sizes; this record covers the type, with the photographed example representing the smaller (or one) size.
Invisible (concealed) zipper, light blue
A single closed-end zipper in light blue / turquoise, shown coiled in two views. It is of the concealed ("invisible") type, in which the spiral coil is set behind the tape so that, when sewn into a garment, only a fine seam line shows. The narrow woven tape carries a continuous synthetic coil along one edge; a small moulded slider with a short, plain pull-tab sits near the lower (closed) end, and a metal bottom stop terminates the coil. The upper ends of the tape are cut and unfinished (open at the top). The zipper looks salvaged from a garment.
Packet of "Rose" brand hand sewing needles, No. 3
A small packet of hand sewing needles in its original packaging. The package is a slim rectangular black paper/card sleeve or folded wrapper, with a red printed paper label adhered to the front. The label carries, from top to bottom: a circular device enclosing a stylized white rose, the brand name "Rose" in white cursive script, the product description "HAND SEWING NEEDLES / NO. 3" in white capitals, a line of Chinese characters, and the English statement "MADE IN CHINA." The black wrapper is creased and worn, with a folded/tucked lower portion forming a closure or pocket. The packet appears to still contain its needles (contents not separately visible/verified). "No. 3" denotes the needle size within the brand's range.
Rick-rack braid trim, golden-yellow
A loose hank of golden-yellow rick-rack — a narrow flat braid woven in a continuous zigzag (serpentine) form, used as a decorative edging or applied trim. The piece is a single length, tangled and folded on itself, with frayed cut ends and a few loose threads. The braid has a soft sheen and the regular chevron profile characteristic of rick-rack. It is a cut length or remnant of yardage rather than a finished article.
Set of Six Round Shank Buttons — Green with Gold-Tone Rim
Six oval shank buttons. The face presents a smooth round center panel in green, recessed within a raised border inset with a continuous gold-tone metal ring. The reverse is green plastic with a molded central post and two-prong gold-tone metal shank.
Set of Six Round Shank Buttons — Red with Gold-Tone Rim
Six round shank buttons of identical form. The face presents a smooth, slightly domed oval center panel in tomato red, recessed within a raised oval border inset with a continuous gold-tone metal ring. The overall profile is low and rounded. The reverse is red-painted plastic, molded with a central raised post from which a two-prong metal shank projects; the shank prongs are gold-tone and bent inward in the standard loop-and-clip configuration. The construction — a plastic body with a separately inserted metal rim — is characteristic of mid-century European decorative button production, widely distributed through Soviet-bloc haberdashery channels in the 1960s–1970s.
Set of Twelve Square Shank Buttons — Cream/Greenish with Gold-Tone Accents
Twelve molded plastic shank buttons in a rounded-square (“cushion”/squircle) form with a raised square central panel surrounded by a channeled border, crossed at top and bottom by paired gold-tone bars that read as a stylized buckle or strap-and-ring motif. The body is an opaque cream/ivory plastic with a distinctly cool, slightly greenish cast. The gold-tone elements are inlaid metallic strips (or metallized plastic) set into molded channels. The reverse is gold-tone (metallic-finished), molded with a raised central self-shank pierced for thread and impressed with four small diamond/lozenge marks arranged around the shank — a decorative or registration feature of the mold. The construction (molded plastic face with applied gold-tone trim and an integral self-shank, gold-finished reverse) is consistent with mid-to-late-twentieth-century decorative garment buttons of the kind distributed through haberdashery channels, including the Soviet-bloc imports that supplied Cuban mercerías.

Six identical molded buttons, square with rounded corners and a low pyramidal (four-sided faceted) top rising to a central point, the whole surface finely ribbed/striated. The body is blue. Across the center of each top is a raised golden "X" (a crossed-bar motif with a beaded/nubbed texture). The reverse is recessed, with a central raised boss, four radiating channels, and a small central self-shank for sewing (no thread holes through the face). One button is shown front, edge, and back.

Set of six matching square buttons, red with golden "X" motif
Six identical molded buttons, square with rounded corners and a low pyramidal (four-sided faceted) top rising to a central point, the whole surface finely ribbed/striated. The body is a warm red, semi-translucent at the edges. Across the center of each top is a raised golden "X" (a crossed-bar motif with a beaded/nubbed texture). The reverse is recessed, with a central raised boss, four radiating channels, and a small central self-shank for sewing (no thread holes through the face). One button is shown front, edge, and back.

Across the center of each top is a raised golden "X" (a crossed-bar motif with a beaded/nubbed texture). The reverse is recessed, with a central raised boss, four radiating channels, and a small central self-shank for sewing (no thread holes through the face). One button is shown front, edge, and back.
Sewing thimble, molded plastic
A small closed-top sewing thimble made of molded plastic in a marbled, variegated green-yellow, with blue-green and yellow mottling concentrated at the crown. The body is the standard tapering thimble form with a flat-domed top and a slightly flared band at the open base. The crown and upper sides are covered in the regular knurled indentations (the small dimples that keep a needle from slipping) typical of a working thimble; the lower body is plainer above the basal rim. The plastic has a faintly translucent, lustrous quality. There are no visible maker's marks, size numbers, or inscriptions.
Spool of sewing thread, brown
A small spool of sewing thread wound on a white cardboard bobbin with flanged ends, one of which is hollow/recessed. The thread is brown, fine, and appears to be a plied (twisted) sewing thread with a slight sheen; the wind is full but disturbed, with stray strands and a loose tail trailing from one end. The bobbin is the flanged type used for machine and hand sewing thread. No printed label, end stamp, or brand is visible.
Woven floral ribbon trim
A short length of narrow decorative ribbon/trim on a cream/ivory ground, patterned with a horizontal row of stylized daisies — yellow, red, and blue — joined by green leaves and stems. The band has finished woven selvedge edges along its length and cut, slightly frayed ends; it is shown folded back on itself, and the reverse (visible at the fold) carries long floats of colored thread (red, yellow, blue, green) running across the width, the typical back of a figured/brocaded woven ribbon. A few loose threads (white, and red loops near one end) hang from the piece. It reads as a cut length or remnant of decorative trim rather than a complete made-up article.
Woven ribbon trim, black-and-white scallop-and-dot pattern
A length of narrow decorative ribbon/trim on a white ground patterned in black, wound into a coil. The design runs lengthwise: a row of black scallops (arches) each enclosing a solid black dot along the upper part of the band, with a border of fine black stripes and a dotted/dashed line below, and a finer striped edge. The band has finished woven selvedges along both edges and cut, slightly frayed ends with a few loose threads. The reverse shows the pattern in reverse colorway with weft floats, consistent with a figured woven ribbon. It reads as a cut length or remnant of yardage rather than a finished article.
embroidered trim
A length of narrow decorative ribbon/trim on a white ground patterned in green, wound into a loose coil. The design runs lengthwise as a continuous floral vine — multi-petaled blossoms with leaves and connecting stems in green. The band has finished woven selvedges along both edges and cut, frayed ends with loose green and white threads trailing from one end. The reverse (visible where the coil turns) shows the pattern in reverse colorway with weft floats, consistent with a figured woven ribbon. It reads as a cut length or remnant of yardage rather than a finished article.
